FEATURED POST: COUTURE FASHION WEEK FALL2023
Hello darlings,
Admittedly, despite promising, I haven’t been able to bring myself to review the Ready-to-Wear collections.
The fashion industry really has become flooded with pretty, well-made clothes that are just that.
In some ways, it isn’t a bad thing. I feel like the industry is very consistent now in producing wearable, chic clothing. But sometimes I lament the lack of perceived creativity, and dare I say it – drama.
But I remind myself that fashion really is a response to society, that things ebb and flow, and that maybe right now the world has enough drama without the excess of fashion.
One may argue that that’s exactly why the whimsy and fantasy of fashion is necessary but I guess that’s where the couture collections come in.
These July Couture shows did just enough to keep fashion lovers excited – Anna Wintour gave her fifth standing ovation in the past decade😂 – but I’m not going to lie, I do miss the extravagance of fashion (and fashion shows) past.
