Spring 2018 Couture; Major Moment | Armani Privé

Happy Wednesday all,

As mentioned, I’m continuing with Spring 2018 Couture reviews while starting Fashion Month.

Hectic? Yes.

Worth it? Also yes.

One of the reasons I get held up during my collection reviews is that sometimes I find a collection so breathtakingly beautiful and realized, that I want to stop and give it the appropriate attention it deserves.

And of course, this is one of them.

The press notes went out;

“THE SKY WITH ALL ITS NUANCES”

Not that he needs a theme, but Giorgio Armani is a king of couture.

I mean the subtle drama and impeccable tailoring are what has kept him in the game for over 35 years.

The scene was set.

Paris was damp and overcast.

And the room in which Armani showed had blotchy red, blue and gray smudged walls, reminiscent of painterly watermarked skies.

There was such variety in this collection.

Blazers, bustier dresses, shorts….in pastel painted fabrics, dropping with crystal embellishments and all touched with the same delicateness that the couturier envisioned.

Armani admitted his clientele was growing more focused on eveningwear and so although light and airy was the theme, there was still depth to the collection as the looks transitioned from bright daywear to evening.

It was youthful, it was sophisticated…

And it was pretty and feminine.

It was romantic and it was modern.

What more could you want?

See the rest of the collection here.

Enjoy!

xx
