SS18; Major Moment | Alberta Ferretti
Alberta Ferretti was over the frou frou.
Spring signifies rebirth.
And, for a designer who has spent a large portion of her career embellishing and frilling, this collection was just that.
Ferretti took a step back.
“I felt this was an important moment to look back at the past and to think about what I want for the present.”
And for the present, she sent out sleek, streamlined looks, inspired by chic holiday-goers.
Part athleisure, part glamor, Ferretti sent out everything from a series of form-fitting [black] swimwear inspired garments, to billowy, pastel-sequin gowns.
And there were the in-betweens. The casual staple tops and trousers, done in light chiffons – semi mix-and-match, but also glitzy enough for a night out.
There was a dressy, European ease to the collection – this girl could easily be spotted at any beachside resort – and, though not the strongest Ferretti has produced, change – especially being proactive about it – must be commended.
