SS18; Major Moment | Ralph & Russo

Happy Friday all!

My my, hasn’t this been such a busy week?

But, if anything busy equals [or should equal] productive.

I’m pretty proud of the rhythm I’ve gotten into this week, especially with blogging and all the other social obligations on my plate.

But you don’t want to hear about me!

We’re almost at the end of the London shows; this is the second and final Major Moment at this location – and it’s a pretty wonderful collection if I do say so myself.

And who’d have thought I’d be covering Ralph and Russo and in a Ready-To-Wear [RTW] season??

But what this brand has achieved is commendable – and of course worth talking about!

In quite a short space of time [2010-] this London-based, Aussie-founded brand has grown in ranks [and clientele] among the luxury houses and best of the Paris couturiers.

And now the couple have segued into the RTW market!

How exciting that a label with traditionally founded couture techniques is bringing luxury – or the idea of – to the masses!

Just pay attention to the level of craftsmanship in this collection. It is absolutely breathtaking!

Metalized denim, frills, flounces, and crystallized gowns graced the runway in a spectacular 48-look show.

Creativity ran abound with rich colors, feathers, floral [eye-roll] prints, and sparkles that spoke to a higher-end consumer, but done in shapes and silhouettes that are feminine, every-day easy, and ultra-wearable.

To be fair, Ralph & Russo aren’t exactly the first to do this “prêt-à-couture” [see Delpozo], but they definitely can be credited as pioneers, especially on the other side of the pond.

See the rest of the collection here.

Enjoy!

xx
