FW17; Major Moment | Victoria Beckham

Now THIS is fashion!
Victoria Beckham hasn’t had the traditional foray into the fashion world.
Of course, as a member of uber-successful pop band – The Spice Girls – and being in the entertainment, and as a result in close proximity of the fashion realm, certainly helped.
However, who would have thought that years after belting “Wannabe” at the top of my lungs – still do – that I’d be here reviewing an amazingly standout collection from Mrs. B. herself.
She admitted during fittings that she’d never worn a blazer with a skirt. And so what may have started as trial and error, ended up resulting in a wonderfully cohesive and well thought-out presentation.
While all looks were not the “skirt-and-blazer” combo per se, the majority of the collection made use of that feelings – combining the ease and chicness of the pairing and applying it throughout.
There is always a simplicity in Beckham’s collections, in how she perceives her woman to dress, but now Vicky has found a way to step it up.
This collection cleverly utilizes almost every technique in a designer’s arsenal; colors, mixed materials, prints, playing with structure and proportion.
And while Mrs. Beckham may try to steer away from her girl group beginnings, with collections like this she certainly reminds us of why she will always be posh…
