*Spring 2015 Trend Alert: Pantone Color of the Year
Hello again my lovelies,
I come bearing great news!
Pantone, the authority on all things color related, has announced the much-awaited Color of the Year.
And the lucky pigment isssss…. *drumroll*…
*opens envelope*
Marsala!
Now, you may be scratching your head like I was saying mars-who-what?! And some of you may know it from that delectable Italian-American dish, Chicken Marsala, made with mushrooms and wine!
If you are familiar with the dish, you aren’t too far off! Marsala is a rich, earthy wine tone and has been described by Pantone as a “tasteful hue [that] embodies the satisfying richness of a fulfilling meal while its grounding red-brown roots emanate a sophisticated, natural earthiness. This hearty, yet stylish tone is universally appealing and translates easily to fashion, beauty, industrial design, home furnishings and interiors.”
And, while many have criticized this year’s color as being boring, none can doubt it’s versatility with regards to gender, expression and sophistication.
…now I’m feeling for a glass of wine!
xx
