SS21; Major Moment | Cinq à Sept | LOOKBOOK
Happy Thursday!
So, I know I hinted that there may not really be many Major Moments (at least for NYFW) – everything is mostly a lookbook if you haven’t already noticed – but I had to stop and write a little something for Cinq a Sept!
Most designers this season have opted to put out joyful, optimistic collections. And in the midst of all that’s happening in the world, between politics and a pandemic, who wouldn’t?
Jane Siskin attempted to do just that with her Spring-Summer 21 presentation.
The designer dove into a wide palette of fabrics, textures, and colours, intending to “bring a sense of joy to people.”
And I’d say she was quite successful!
Vibrant colours, warm tones, striking prints, Siskin translated her inspiration into sensible and chic clothing, which is no easy task.
Joy and practicality are the overarching themes of this collection (and basically my watchwords for life).
Sisken notes that the Cinq a Sept woman still enjoys dressing up, but now, the occasion is different.
With these pieces, she can still be as fashionable as ever, whether working from home, having a Zoom call with friends, or attending socially-distant events.
If the new normal looks like this, sign me up!
See the rest of the collection here.
Enjoy!
