FW17; Major Moment | Givenchy

So, after 12 years at the helm of Givenchy, Ricardo Tisci has tendered his resignation.

In what was a sudden and surprising exit – much like Peter Dundas over at Cavalli – the fashion world continues it’s musical chairs of creative directors.

While Tisci took a few years to grow into his role at Givenchy, a luxury most creative directors don’t have, he can be credited for growing the label into the internationally renowned powerhouse it is today.

Tisci’s repertoire includes dressing big celebrities such as Beyoncé multiple times at the MET Gala, Emma Stone for the 2017 Academy Awards, Kim K…and who can forget Rooney Mara’s press circuit for the “Girl with a Dragon Tattoo?”

Whoever steps into this role has some big shoes to fill…

And so, in the interim, the team has presented this collection…which needless to say I’m OBSESSED with.

I mean how brilliant that in the midst of a changing of hands, the house has put forward its most iconic looks, in the statement color of the season.

For Givenchy-philes, a lot of the silhouettes are familiar, representative of the label that both Givenchy and Tisci have cultivated, this time stamped with the year of it’s creation.

A witty palate cleanser, with the staples of the house – ruffles, lace, structure – as we prepare for a new era of Givenchy, and the perfect starting point for Tisci’s successor…

See the rest of the collection here.

Enjoy!

xx
