FW17; Major Moment | Gucci

WARNING! HUGE POST AHEAD!

So Alessandro Michele, Gucci’s creative director, has done it again – this time presenting a rich and lustrous, mixed-gender, and as expected – diverse, Fall 2017 collection.

Michele’s influences are vast and innumerable. A quick scroll through an Instagram account created solely for his inspiration reveals this. From the English countryside to Renaissance paintings, Michele cleverly finds a way to synthesize these into an albeit large but cohesive collection.

There is just so much multilayered cultural element and a consciousness to the clothing that keeps the Gucci brand high-end, current and contemporary.

And the details don’t hurt either!

An eclectic mix of “models,”  chosen by Michele for their “realness” paraded nature inspired prints and crystal-embroidered clothing down a tubular plexiglass walkway.

“I don’t care about models; I care about faces! It’s like, a way to show humanity. It’s funny, I think the era of ‘models’ is ended.”

The show was dramatic, with nods to the East and the West, playing with Asian influences and Hollywood glamour – again an example of the brand’s many seemingly unrelated stimuli.

There is a lot of look, a lot of styling, and a lot of beautiful clothing… but that’s what makes these luxury houses so grand!

There’s just enough of everything for everyone to love!

I hope you enjoy this collection as much as I do!

See the rest of the collection here.

Enjoy!

xx
