*SS17; Major Moment | Missoni

Angela Missoni’s Spring-Summer 2017 collection was inspired by a need to declutter – spring cleaning if you will.

She speaks about her summer vacation in which she saw a lot, too much in fact, and as a result her natural inclination was to crave less.

Missoni isn’t the only designer this season to criticize the over saturation of the (visual?) world. Thus, in response to this she has produced a relatively minimal collection.

But what is minimal for a brand that is known for knitwear and chevron prints?

Missoni turned to color. Her looks emulated natural patterns and earthy tones and the silhouettes were clean and uncomplicated.

“A” for effort to any house attempting to modernize. Nothing majorly revolutionary, but a solid offering from this Italian designer.

As Vogue.com most aptly puts it, “though not exactly minimal…—it was a palette cleanser, nonetheless.”

See the rest of the collection here.

Enjoy!
