First post from Milano! – Fashion Week that is…
And first up we have Alberta Ferretti.
Ferretti brings us a narrative that we are already somewhat familiar with – andryogyny.
Ferretti, known for dressmaking and utilizing ultra-feminine tropes – lace, tulle, embroidery and the likes – introduces masculinity into her Spring-Summer 2017 collection.
She had flared trousers, loose blouses and crisp shorts to balance her signature frills. And the addition of leather belts gave the entire collection a fresh edge.
The term “embroidered dress” can have an aged connotation, but Ferretti has cleverly managed to update her repertoire.
