Hi again darlings,
Lots of recaps today, no?
Here’s another phenomenal collection presented at last September’s shows.
This time from none other than the amazingly talented Marc Jacobs.
Rumor has it that Jacobs’ usual venue was in use and so the designer had to resort to showing at the renowned Ziegfeld Theatre, Manhattan’s largest surviving single-screen theatre.
Regardless of the reason for the location change, Jacobs saw an opportunity to host an affair for the stars. This was no ordinary fashion show; Jacobs created an exuberant fashion EVENT and no expense was spared.
Jacobs’ runway stretched half-a-block, with models strutting up to the step-and-repeat outside before making their way into the theatre and down the aisles.
Meanwhile, celebrity guests enjoyed fountain sodas, popcorn and Playbills celebrating the event, all while watching the show live on the big screen.
The collection itself was impeccable. Old Hollywood at it’s most glamorous. A nod to the past with a real sense of Americana. It was a bit patriotic, a bit flash, and a bit grunge…I guess all the makings of a real New York special.
And while this may not be to everyone’s taste, it is hard to resist the charm, artistry and definitely the detail shown in this collection…
