*tbt: FW15 Major Moment; Anna Sui
Who doesn’t love a good Viking?
New York designer, Anna Sui definitely does! And it shows in her extremely well-conceived Fall/Winter 2015 collection.
Sui took us on a Mongolian-inspired, Nordic adventure, using her conventional prints in new and exciting ways.
As with her fellow designers, the 70s were a huge inspiration. Sui successfully managed to incorporate her own luxe , layered, boho aesthetic, with this decade…and still was able to throw in some Norse cultural influences??
Sounds like a mess?! It does…
…but it turned out to be the perfect recipe!
[fashion is all about moderation proportion]
Models sported funky, tribal face tattoos and windblown, warrior tresses as they paraded Sui’s beautiful, folkloric creations down the runway.
Sui gave us a full package.
51 whopping looks [!!] including jumpsuits, peasant tops, knit vests, tights, all in a mix of fur, lace, lamé, chiffon and wool….plus embroidery, plus print!
*phew* I am tired just mentioning it….
Hard work and cohesion are always noticed…especially in this industry.
No doubt a standout collection, not just for this designer…but also for the FW15 tents as well.
See the rest of the collection here.
Enjoy!
