SS20; Major Moment | Alice + Olivia
Alright alright…I may have already flubbed my NYFW recaps…
Normally I try to do the shows in alphabetical – as opposed to chronological – order (due to my annoying need for organization)….but I missed this one!
I contemplated about whether it was a necessary collection to showcase…and thought…”Why not? Let’s do it!”
I’ve featured Alice + Olivia in my past recaps, but never as a Major Moment. The clothes are pretty, and pretty well made…but nothing ever really jumped out.
That is, until now!
Something strange is happening in fashion at the moment.
There seems to be a heaviness.
Maybe it’s the political climate (in the US? In the world??); maybe it’s because seasons are blurring together and brands are becoming less rigid and more lifestyle-oriented; who knows?
But in reviewing a number of the collections and seeing black prominently featured on SPRING runways?? Something is definitely up….
Enter Alice + Olivia’s SS20 collection.
It’s bright. It’s bold. It’s eye-catching.
And probably more importantly, it’s fun and flirty!
And isn’t that what spring should be about?
If you know me, you know I’m not one to shy away from color. But apart from that, there are prints and wonderfully made separates. There are day looks. There are evening looks. There’s even some denim streetwear!
It’s clean, chic, modern yet timeless.
