Happy Monday all!
I hope that the start of the new year has been kind to you.
New year, new beginnings, new award show season, right?
Now normally I don’t do this; in fact, I was recently explaining to a friend why I don’t usually recap red carpets.
Celebs and their stylists normally interpret fashion in a very “pretty” way. And while nothing is wrong with that, there just usually isn’t much to talk about.
But this year, there is.
And it may not necessarily be the fashion….
In light of all the recently exposed sexual harassment allegations and gender discrepancies in the industry, celebs have decided to speak up.
Time’s Up, a group advocating for legislation to curtail workplace harassment across industries and seeking gender parity at various entertainment companies, has encouraged stars in attendance to wear black in solidarity.
A red carpet with a message?
Quite a sign of the times.
“Don’t stand out, stand up.”
And that may just be the motto of the year.
