The end is near…of my review of NYFW SS15 collections that is.
Up now, Ralph Lauren.
Heralded as one of the premier American-designers, Lauren has admitted to looking at his own country [while others were looking to Europe] for inspiration.
He celebrates a simple, refined Americana, using recurring nautical, safari, western and old Hollywood themes to portray this.
This collection is no different. This time Lauren took us on a safari…and it was evident! A true pairing of opposites, high fashion with low; hard with soft as Lauren mixed utilitarian pieces with flowing silk fabrics and vibrantly colored tops with cargo pants.
Lauren, with a collection spanning 40+ years, has signature themes that he often revisits and amazingly is able to revitalize with a new and innovative approach.
